ATC I: Freshman Year
The first year of development is rigorous in technical proficiency through observational drawing. Achieving proficiency in perspective and proportional drawing, understanding value, color theory, and the elements of art and the principles of design are paramount.
ATC II: Sophomore Year
The second year will build and expand upon skills and techniques. Students begin extensive exploration with varied media and increase skills in advanced drawing applied to portraiture, figure drawing, printmaking and paper cut.
ATC III: Junior Year
In year three, students will concentrate on our Advance Placement Studio-2D Design and will focus upon portfolio development for admission into pre-college art programs. Students will not only increase their visual acuity but will also increase their ability to verbalize and write about their work. Further intensive exploration of media will be introduced.
ATC IV: Senior Year
The fourth year concludes with our Advanced Placement, College Boards approved, studio curriculum. Students develop a thematic portfolio for merit scholarship(s) acceptance and admission into college art programs. Each senior student will host, market, and mount a senior thesis exit show within the community at large as part of their debut as practicing artist.
