JC Arts High School Program, Visual Arts students, attend a satellite for their visual arts courses daily. Students attending Jersey City Public High Schools for academic subjects from McNair Academic High School, Liberty High School, Dickinson High School, Ferris High School or HCST: County Prep, will go to the JC Arts Satellite at Ferris High School. Students attending Jersey City Public High Schools for academic subjects from Infinity Institute, Innovation High School, Lincoln High School, or Snyder High School, will go to the JC Arts satellite at Snyder High School.
Prospective students will undergo a selection process that mirrors the college recruitment process. Wherein students must complete an onsite drawing to interview and will present a student home test with an art portfolio.
Enrollment in the ATC program throughout a 4 year commitment is encouraged.
ATC: (Artistically Talented Curricula)
Grades 1-8: Artistically Talented Curricula (ATC)- This is a specialized class for gifted art students to build traditional fine art skills in a wide array of media. Students need to complete specific art projects to apply for acceptance.
Honors JC Arts 8th Grade:
Students who have demonstrated significant growth artistically will be selected to receive rigorous training in foundational skills and techniques. Portfolio reviews will be conducted quarterly. Students will engage in joint activities with JC Arts, Visual Arts. Early acceptance to JC Arts, Visual Arts, is the goal for all students.
